By registering for What a Jazz dance classes and events you agree to our rules and safe-space guidelines.

    RULES

    • All participants take part in classes and events at their own risk, understanding that they may encounter greater-than-usual physical exertion and being responsible for their own health.
    • The organisers are not liable for any injuries or harm to health that may occur during participation. Always be careful and look after others.
    • The organisers are not responsible for the safety of participants’ personal belongings during classes and events.
    • When registering, participants provide accurate personal information and are admitted to classes only after receiving confirmation by email.
    • By registering, participants agree that the information they provide may be used to deliver the services ordered, and that their email and phone number may be used to share information related to those services.
    • Classes are paid for by bank transfer before the first class, and afterwards by transfer or card at the What a Jazz dance studio. There are no free first classes.
    • Before coming to classes, participants must have read our FAQ – especially regarding suitable footwear and clothing, prices and payments, missed classes and refunds.
    • Participants take care of their personal hygiene and accept feedback positively if physical contact with them becomes unpleasant for those around them.
    • Participants come to classes and events ready to respect other participants, teachers and organisers, to avoid conflict and to create a safe, friendly space for everyone. Participants who do not agree with the SAFE-SPACE GUIDELINES (see below) may be warned and asked to leave an event without refund, and may be refused entry to future events. The organisers reserve the right to refuse entry to unwanted individuals.
    • Events and classes may be photographed and filmed. Participants may appear in photos and videos and agree that the organisers may use this material for What a Jazz dance studio purposes. If participants do not agree, they must notify the organisers at welcome@whatajazz.lt.

    SAFE-SPACE GUIDELINES

    • We are KIND to everyone and RESPECT all people. We do not harass or attack others. We do not discriminate by gender, gender expression or sexual orientation, race, religion or nationality. We value everyone equally regardless of age, ability, physical appearance, lifestyle, dance experience or dance role.
    • We WELCOME everyone and invite others to dance, and we don’t take offence if a personal invitation to dance is declined. We can all say “no” without a reason, but we stay polite while doing so, and if we promise to dance later, we respect and keep that promise.
    • We are RESPONSIBLE for our own physical safety and that of those around us. We try to behave carefully and considerately on the dance floor and apologise if we accidentally bump into someone. We don’t offer unsolicited advice or instruction on the dance floor, and we don’t perform any lifts or acrobatic tricks except during performances or jam circles. If we drink alcohol, we do so responsibly, and if we’re intoxicated enough to pose a danger to ourselves or others, we leave the dance floor and move to the bar or go home.
    • We RESPECT and ACKNOWLEDGE that other people’s personal boundaries may not be the same as ours. We are fully aware of what behaviour is inappropriate and which actions some may find offensive.
    • We UNDERSTAND that following these guidelines ensures a better experience for everyone, and that taking part in any verbal, physical or sexual abuse will have consequences.
    • We COMMIT to receiving any complaints consciously and sensitively and to taking appropriate action, keeping all details as confidential as possible.

For any questions, contact welcome@whatajazz.lt or speak to the studio leaders Eglė, Elzė and Arnas personally.
